"Last month, Guinness World Records hosted the first meeting between the current world’s shortest and world’s tallest men. He Pingping, at just 2‘ 4” tall (73 cm), stood side-by-side with Sultan Kosen, who towered above him at a massive 8’ 1” tall (2,46 m). The event took place in Istanbul, Turkey, the country of which Kosen is a native. The giant was named as the World’s Tallest Man in September 2009, while Pingping garnered the World’s Shortest Man title in April 2008. However, Pingping may not be holding his title for long. There is an even shorter Nepalese man, Khagendra Thapa Magar, who is just 56 cm tall. Magar had previously been ineligible to claim the shortest man title because he had to be at least 18 years of age to be entered into the Guinness Book of World Records. Magar only just turned 18 on October 14th, 2009, now making him eligible for the title".
